2 peas in a pod

Kate and Olivia are the cutest cousins/best friends you've ever seen...yep ok... I know I'm biased.
These two have so much fun together, love to match, and have separation issues when they have to part!
They sure melt this grandma's heart...

Hello Sis. Schlauder...
I hope you are finding a source of comfort each day as your family continues to endure the loss of Leah. I think of her often and how extremely loving, warm, funny and kind she was. They say some people come into your lives and leave footprints on your heart..Leah definitely was one of those people in my life. I think it is great that you post of her often and keep her so close to all of us. The 12 year anniversary of my little brother Robby's death was a week ago. As I was remembering him and looking through some old photographs and things, I came across a poem I found that I had read at his funeral. Im not sure of the author... but when I read it, it brings me so much comfort and continues to do so years later. Reading it once more the other day It made me think of Leah and it made me smile to think that she is up there with my little brother..teasing him about wanting to make him her boyfriend someday when he was old enough. (He was only 11 or 12 I think at the time, and used to turn bright red and get the biggest, cheesiest grin on his face!) Leah worked at Robeign which was named in memory of my brother after he died, and every time I saw her to get my hair done she would keep me laughing the whole time, and then take me out afterwards for the soft serve ice cream cones at Mcdonalds. She gave the WARMEST, most loving hugs! Your family is in my prayers and I know Leah is with you always, as my brother is with me!

Here is the poem...

"He only takes the Best"

God saw your burdens were too heavy,
and a cure was not to be,
So He put His arms around you,
and whispered..."Come home with me."

With tear filled eyes we watched you,
struggle and slip away.
Although we loved you deeply,
We could not make you stay.

A golden heart stopped beating,
beautiful hands put to rest,
God broke our hearts to prove to us,
He only takes the BEST.
