Celebrations...

Way past time for some catching up...

August 29th we celebrated Kaden's birthday with a swim BBQ party with about fifteen 9 & 10 year old boys. I've decided all boys need for a lot fun is food, water and a ball of some kind!

About an hour after Kaden's party we celebrated my Dad's 83rd birthday with home made ice cream and Uncle Ric's famous peach cobbler. It was wonderful to be with Dad and shower him with love.

Dad just got home from a four day trip to San Diego with Ric and Mary. He got to see his cousin Grayden and go to the San Diego Temple. One of the highlights of the trip was a harbor cruise and seeing the beautiful ocean, something Dad has been wanting to do for a long time. He really had a wonderful time...
Dad is becoming quite a jet setter!

Happy Birthday Jennie Marie!

Things have been a little too crazy busy to blog or even check blogs, so needless to say, I am way behind! But, before I do the catching up part the most important thing to do today is to wish our Jennie a very Happy birthday!!!
Jennie. is. amazing. Jennie is my right arm, my confidant, my angel in countless ways... (I even secretly love all the projects she talks me in to.) Jen is a great sister & is always there for each of them. She is a true friend. Jennie is a wonderful wife & mother. Jennie treats her nieces and nephews like her own precious children and showers them with unconditional love. To say she's talented and creative, well, that is an UNDERSTATEMENT! She gives, loves and serves with all her heart. I am grateful for her every day.
Happy birthday sweetheart... we are so lucky to be your mom and dad. WE LOVE YOU!

THE BEACH 2009!

We all love our family tradition of going to the beach for a week every summer. Although this year surely would have been better if all of our family could have come... Allyson was able to fly in and be there for 4 days (Yea!) but Amy started her job teaching High School in Saratoga Springs, Utah so she couldn't come at all. And Leah & Amber, well,...maybe they'll be able to come next year. The weather was great, even a little bit cool. We had a fabulous time and just wish it could last a little longer...so we could enjoy more:
*ocean fun *sand castles *beating Grampa Al at chinese checkers *great food *sleeping in *Swirls frozen yogurt *tennis *bike rides *movies *"Wicked"...it was so much fun! *boogie boarding *reading good books *games *body surfing *sand crab hunting *being entertained by Levi *swimming in the heated pool... and lots of great times...
We love the beach!

Kadaman is 9... What?!

My baby turned 21 this week and now my #1 grandson is 9 years old today!!! What the heck is going on?!!! It doesn't seem at all possible that Kaden and Taylor are NINE. They also love to remind us that next year they will be in the double digits!! Time definitely does fly by, whether I want it to or not.

Kaden is such a "cool kid"... He makes us all smile and brightens everyday.

This morning I got up early to make him an awesome breakfast... crepes with strawberries, peaches and whip cream. Kaden tolerated it and managed to get down a few bites... until I gave in and gave him yucky cold cereal. (Grampa is the one who gave in and bought Cocoa Krispies for him!)
Kaden, you're our "King for the Day" and we sure love you buddy XO!
